Tesco create 20,000 jobs
Back in 2011 Tesco had 3000 apprenticeships’ that was open to existing staff, now it is looking to increase those numbers to 10,000 with another 10,000 coming from external candidates.
There are a number of different channels of were Tesco will go to source these candidates but a major source will be through Jobcentre plus, a spokesperson said that it will “ensure the roles go to the people who need it the most”.
Government statics put youth unemployment at a record high; Tesco may be able to help reduce those numbers in a small way as the employment campaign is targeted at young people currently out of work.
With a workforce of 290,000, 70,000 of these employee’s are under 25 indicating they are very experienced in the campaigns that will be needed to attract the right type of candidate.
